Summer ended and it was like a slap in the face for us out here in the Midwest. The change was not subtle in the least.

Since moving from the East Coast a couple of years ago, I’ve learned it’s much better to be safe than sorry with the rapidly changing weather. I always pack a sweater, scarf, umbrella or any sort of weather-proofing hair product needed wherever I go.

This fall it’s all about big, bold colors (rusty orange, turquoise, dark purple, yellow) mixed with soft neutrals. If you are going for a casual look with jeans and t-shirt, try pairing the outfit with a colorful clutch, like the orange one found above, or a chunky ring or stacked bracelets. For beauty products, this illuminator from Nars in “Orgasm” helps create a dewy, sun-kissed look long after the beach days are gone.

Since it’s not full-blown fall yet, ankle boots and blazers or leather jackets are perfect to throw on with a summer dress. Mix up the outfit with a fun patterned bag or sweater.

A pleated-long skirt paired with a sweater or vintage-t creates a sleek, yet casual, whimsical look. This bold, purple jewel-toned nail polish found above is the perfect shade for Fall. Pairing an oversized wristwatch like this Marc Jacobs one pairs well with any outfit and can help create balance with a feminine look.
