Great news for all metro Detroit foodies and craft beer connoisseurs: Bastone Brewery’s annual month-long Oktoberfest will reach a culmination point tonight with Rocktoberfest, an exclusive celebration featuring a menu that synchronizes nicely with the autumnal season.
At costs of $30 per person and $50 per couple, guests will be treated to a delectable three-course beer-pairing dinner offering tastes from Bastone’s Oktoberfest menu along with their seasonal Rocktoberfest brew.
Named for brewmaster Rockne Van Meter, it is Bastone’s most popular seasonal and a World Beer Championship medal winner from 2008 and 2009. The Oktoberfest-style lager is light copper in color, 5.5 percent alcohol by volume, with a light tan head and slight caramel and toasty flavors.
The event, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m., is sponsored by Bastone Brewery in Royal Oak and Jack Detroit magazine. Due to limited seating, reservations are recommended.
Guests who attend tonight’s event will receive a limited-edition, laser-etched Bastone pint glass to take home.
Bastone’s Oktoberfest menu runs through October 20 and features several German delicacies, including steak and potato soup, sauerbraten, warm kielbasa salad, jäger schnitzel, vegetable strudel and mustard glazed trout.
Any of Bastone’s beers can be purchased in an Oktoberfest pint glass for $5 while they last. Refills cost $2 off the regular price of any Bastone beer through Oct. 20.
