Mittens For “Likes”

The Woodward Spine will be donating one pair of gloves to Mittens for Detroit for every new “Like” that we receive on our Facebook page from now until Thanksgiving. Be sure to suggest us to all of your friends and family. Together we can help a great charity and do our part in making sure Detroit stays warm this winter!

Mittens For Detroit is a community initiative whose sole purpose is to collect and distribute new, unused gloves and mittens to those in need – both children and adults – in metro Detroit.

Mittens For Detroit has been warming hands and hearts since the organization was founded in November 2010 by Erin Cummings, star of ABCʼs Detroit 1-8-7, and a dedicated team of volunteers. A community initiative, MFD exists solely to provide new, unused mittens and gloves to those in need – both children and adults – in metro Detroit. Mittens and gloves are collected in drop boxes at a constantly growing list of merchants and businesses throughout metro Detroit.

For more information, check out our interview with Erin Cummings or visit their website.

About The Woodward Spine

The Woodward Spine was the brainchild of Michael Fossano and Jeffrey Buck, two Royal Oak, Mich. natives who met nearly 10 years ago while attending the now-defunct George A. Dondero High School. It seemed fitting for the two Wayne State University alums to craft an outlet to help continually refine their writing skills, while also serving as a trusted source of information for the metro Detroit community. The Woodward Spine aims to inform its readers about relevant news and events through creative and informative posts not only by Mike and Jeff, but other upstanding citizens as well who are driven and proficient in these core areas: news, opinion, entertainment, history, sports and development. The Woodward Spine serves the tri-county metro Detroit area, however concentrating mainly on the communities that lie along the Woodward corridor.
