DETROIT – The days of clunky, time consuming group food ordering is about to meet its demise, thanks to foodjunky. The online food ordering platform foodjunky comes to downtown Detroit’s growing tech corridor from Chicago, where the company was originally launched, to join Bizdom, a nonprofit entrepreneurship accelerator for digital start-ups in the city.

“We are excited about launching our business in downtown Detroit, which is fast becoming one of the most exciting high tech corridors in the nation,” said foodjunky co-founder and CEO Travis Johnson. “The response we’ve received from local restaurants and consumers so far has been overwhelming, and the support Bizdom provides will enable us to grow and thrive here.”

The mobile-friendly website makes ordering and delivery simple by allowing the creation of group orders through proprietary technological solutions.

“Our goal is to turn group ordering into a pleasant and enjoyable experience for both our customers and the restaurants in our network,” said Johnson. “It’s an undertaking to collect food orders for a large group. At the same time, it’s challenging for restaurants to take the orders over the phone – often resulting in errors. foodjunky uses technology to simplify the group food ordering process, making the process more efficient for restaurants and consumers alike while making sure everyone gets exactly what they ordered.”

Foodjunky launched its service with 26 restaurants and is adding numerous food establishments each week.
