The Woodward Spine was the brainchild of Michael Fossano and Jeffrey Buck, two Royal Oak, Mich. natives who met nearly 10 years ago while attending the now-defunct George A. Dondero High School. It seemed fitting for the two Wayne State University alums to craft an outlet to help continually refine their writing skills, while also serving as a trusted source of information for the metro Detroit community.
The Woodward Spine aims to inform its readers about relevant news and events through creative and informative posts not only by Mike and Jeff, but other upstanding citizens as well who are driven and proficient in these core areas: news, opinion, entertainment, history, sports and development. The Woodward Spine serves the tri-county metro Detroit area, however concentrating mainly on the following communities that lie along the Woodward corridor:
Our goal as an online publication is to inform the citizens of these communities and beyond about both the positive and negative of our region. As time progresses and we continue to build our website through frequent, thorough and enlightening posts we hope to expand in ways that continue to educate our readers.

Mike Fossano
Mike spends his days working in account services at Premier Communications Group in Royal Oak, Mich. Like Jeff, he is an alumnus of Wayne State, graduating with a B.A. degree in journalism in 2009. Some of his favorite things include traveling, sports, technology, long walks on the beach and breakin’ fools off in NBA Jam.

Jeffrey Buck
Jeff is currently a Project Manager at Cypress Partners, LLC in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. He graduated from Wayne State University in 2008 with a B.A. in Journalism. Looking to broaden his view of the world, Jeff spent a semester abroad studying at the University of Salford, a Greater Manchester University in England. He enjoys doing an array of activities, including following Detroit sports teams, SCUBA diving, traveling, reading, playing tennis, hand-written letters and going to the movies.
