Shorpy Saturday – The Lincoln Store: 1925

By Jeffrey Buck

When I think of a car dealership… it’s usually expansive and not very elegant. That’s not always been the case. This picture of a city dealership in Washington, D.C. back in the 20s is not your average window shopping experience.

Take a look at the photograph entitled “The Lincoln Store: 1925“:

Spring is here and warmer weather is near. What better way to usher in the better weather than with some flowers.

Shorpy Saturday – Cadillac Garage: 1955

By Jeffrey Buck

In Detroit if it’s one thing we are familiar with it’s automobiles. As Detroit ages, the automobile will play a role in its rebirth but the city will look to other growing sectors to build on its foundation. What business sector would you like to see become more prominent in Detroit?

Take a look at the photograph entitled “Cadillac Garage: 1955“:

Circa 1955, our second example from a series of 8×10 photos labeled “Cadillac 1951-56” and bearing a “Ford Styling, Dearborn” ink stamp.
